How did I get to this job

One of my illusions has always been to have a computer store. At CEPSA, the DSI had budget problems, and there I saw my opportunity. I managed to reduce my day at CEPSA by 3 hours and I took advantage of them to set up the store.

Work description

Without a doubt, the most extensive work I have done.

Start by conducting a small market study, to see where you could locate the store. This led me to spend hours and hours at the door of many places counting how many people passed through the door. Continue to gossip in stores and find out how much a business of this style can sell. Some owners were very clear and showed me their numbers without any qualms.

Make a list of the good ideas of other businesses and the ideas to improve and with all this start to develop budgets and shape the business plan.

Look for a good partner, since I saw many advantages, in the end I acquired a franchise with BEEP.

We are looking for financing, and we started a work on Puebla street in Madrid In just over 2 months the store was running (January 2009)

I hired a vendor and in a short time I had to take fellows. I stayed with one in staff.

As I had predicted in my business plan, the bulk of the business was the technical service, which continues to evolve.

In less than 3 months we bought an infrared welding machine to do reballing, repaired computers, monitors, consoles, servers, phones, with more than 1000 repairs in the first year.

We had to optimize the management. Mount a ticketing system where customers could see what was happening in their repair over the Internet

We started selling solutions to companies, web solutions, POS, and an endless number of specialized products.


Why I left

For no apparent reason all that growth stopped in March 2011. Both sales and repairs began to decline.

I started having to fire people. In December 2010 I had 5 people working. In the month of May only two.

All experts blame this on the crisis, I think it does not manage the economic part of the company well. Both factors were determining.
