1999 – Field Technician

IBM and CEPSA

Since June 28, 1999

Until June 8, 2000

How did I get to this job

While I was in the course of Network and Communications Technician at Garben I was located from Sermalogic to participate in a project with IBM GS Ros.

I was assigned as a field technician at CEPSA, where I began a long and pleasant experience in this company.

Work description

My work was basically divided into four blocks:

  1. Hardware support.
  2. Support outside the central.
  3. VIP users support
  4. Coordination of technicians outside Madrid.
  5. Equipment platform

Hardware Support

Both IBM and other brands’ equipment required constant hardware repairs. Although I had little experience, they trained me. Throughout that year I became an authentic expert in repair of computers, printers, scanners and monitors.

Support outside the central.

CEPSA had several offices, the plant is still in the field of nations. But in addition to this it had several buildings scattered throughout Madrid. CEPSA’s internal user post support only encompassed the building of the field of nations. Out of there the two technicians that IBM took care of to solve the software problems that we could find, always receiving the support of CEPSA technicians.

Support VIP users.

CEPSA has a very special consideration with its top managers, and not only does it require excellent service in terms of speed and quality. But they also require interventions at home. It was there where we entered into action.

Coordination of technicians outside Madrid.

CEPSA not only has a presence in Madrid, it has it throughout Spain. So when there was an incident outside Madrid, a technician had to move there. From Madrid we took care that the technician had everything necessary to be able to solve errors effectively.

Equipment platform.

When some team changed, we took care of everything. Prepare the new equipment, copy the data, check with the user that everything was correct. When we were out of Madrid we were doing the same, relying on the technicians who visited the offices.

Why I left

Although I was really at ease with both IBM and CEPSA, the salary did not accompany.

Garben called me to inform me of a vacancy as an administrator at MAPFRE and decided to accept it. In CEPSA they told me that they would call me in the short future to be part of their staff. So I warned in Garben, but even with that ballast they decided to incorporate me into MAPFRE.
